Josh surprised me with a trip to Skyspace LA, which just opened a few weeks ago. I was shocked he planned this because of his major fear of heights, but I guess love makes you do the craziest things right? 😉
Here’s a few tips and tricks to help you plan your time at the Skyspace!
- Buy tickets ahead of time, you can purchase them here on the Skyspace LA website.
- Buy a general admission ticket and a slide ticket – the Skyslide DOES NOT come with general admission. I definitely recommend doing the slide, when else can you ride a slide 1,000 feet above ground?
- Try to buy tickets to an earlier time – Our time slot was noon, and there was like no one there, almost like VIP treatment really. This is why I got to take so many photos!
- Take your time going up, there a ton of art installations that are actually so cool to look at and play with.
- You can only ride the slide once – so plan ahead for any video/photo opportunities you want to do.
- There are two observation decks, one is more crowded than another.
While you’re in the area, you might as well make reservations for lunch/dinner at these really cool spots not even a mile from the Skyspace LA.
- Perch – if you like high places, you can overlook LA here while dining on amazing food.
- Mrs. Fish – A lounge under Perch. If you’re visiting at night, this place always had good music and is a giant fish tank!
- Bottega Louie – Only the home of the tastiest macarons and other french goodies.
- Bestia – I splurge when I come here, but then again besides Japanese, Italian food IS my favorite!
