It’s really important that the beauty products I use are clean, cruelty-free, free of parabens, sulfates and any chemicals that I can’t pronounce. It can get really expensive if every serum, body wash, scrub, etc I buy is over $40 though, so a lot of products I try out are clean products I find at Target or Amazon that don’t cost more than $15. I like to provide you guys with reviews on some of the best clean beauty products out there, which is what brings me to today’s blog featuring the new Alba Botanica® Acnedote line.
I’m in my mid twenties and my skin still suffers the consequences of diet change, humidity or climate change, sun exposure and hormones. I like using the Alba Botanica Acnedote products to prevent body breakouts and to keep my skin glowing.
The routine
I start off with this face wash. It’s really gentle and also is great at removing makeup from my face. I also use it to wash my chest and back (two really acne prone areas of mine).
I have combination, dry-oily skin. If I’m in the sun too long (even with SPF) my skin will get really dry and start to peel. That’s when I apply the peeling mask (at night time) 2-3 times a week, until I don’t need it.
I also use this face and body scrub 2-3 times a week to actually remove the dead skin and keep it from clogging pores. A lot of body scrubs on the market use microbeads made of plastic. Instead of microbeads, Alba Botanica’s scrubs are made of ground walnut shells, pumice, and ground coffee beans.
So far I’ve been talking about acne prevention. When I do break out, I have to apply one of these pimple patches. They heal my pimples so fast! The patch is clear and matte, so you can barely tell that it’s on. I’ll apply these before bed, and leave them on overnight. The patches heal my pimples more quickly and stop the hyper-pigmentation or dark spots I get after the zit is gone.
I use a few other Alba Botanica® products because I appreciate that the brand is environmentally conscious, cruelty-free, safe and plant based.
Below are a few more of my favorite Alba Botanica products:

What do you use for moisturizer
On the less expensive side I like to use the Innisfree green tea moisturizers. On the more expensive side I love Youth to the People’s adaptogen deep moisture cream!
