Honeymoon – Pt. 2

Yay, part two of my honeymoon adventure! We flew from Maui to Kauai and spent a total of three days here. This was the more relaxing part of our trip since our first day started off with me stepping on a sea urchin while surfing. Luckily I have a strong husband who carried me around the island and we still got to do a ton of snorkeling and of course eating.

BEGINNER SURFING IN KAUAI

Here are a few of the spots that we went to surf (warning: I would be super careful of sea urchins especially in shallow areas, speaking from first hand experience lol). Of course, make sure to check the conditions, it was a little rough when I was there because of the hurricanes.

  • Kalapaki Beach
  • Hanalei Beach
  • Wailua Beach

EAT

If you’re heading to the beaches that I mentioned above I have a few must go to places for a bite to eat.

Tiki Tacos – They have every type of taco you can think of! I’ve only ever seen locals here to the island. Each taco is huge, one definitely fills me up! The steak taco is my favorite, all of their meats are locally grown and grass fed. Love a sustainable place to eat!

Mermaid’s Cafe – I’ve eaten here since I was a kid! The Ahi Cilantro Wrap is everything. While you’re there you also have to try their coconut thai iced tea.

SNORKEL WITH TURTLES

Since I could barely walk, we pretty much snorkeled the entire time. We saw turtles everywhere! Here are a few places you definitely need to go for the best snorkeling and to see turtles.

  • Hideaway Beach – my top choice only becuase it’s so fun to get to! you basically scale a cliff to get there, but don’t worry there are ropes you can grab onto :). We saw the most turtles here.
  • Tunnels Beach
  • Poipu Beach
  • The Na Pali Coast

THE BEST HIKING

I have one hike that you have to do. I’m so sad I couldn’t do it this time. It includes a secret beach, a waterfall and an epic work out! It’s the Hanakapi’ai Falls hike.

Take the Hanakapi’ai trail head that starts at Ke’e beach. You won’t regret it!

We had the best time on our honeymoon, I cannot wait to share my wedding with you all next week! Stay tuned.

Love ya!
