Wow it’s been such a long time since I’ve done a life update and the past year was a whirlwind! I got a new job and we moved to Orange County, then Josh got a job in San Diego, so we started doing long distance, and then I got a job in San Diego and we commuted for 4 hours a day until we bought and moved into our new home. CRAY-Z.
This decade ended with so many changes. It’s taken me half a month to process, finally sit down and be ready to share it with you here on my corner of the internet. I contemplated ending this blog, but I love how it’s become a chronicle of my life. And with the decision to keep my site up, I’ve come up with a few goals for the year and where I see this blog going in the next year. Thanks for following along loves!
1. A new look on social media and stepping into this blog.
I want to be honest with you, social media started to give me anxiety because last year I couldn’t put in the time to grow and engage with more than just my inner circle. There is so much behind the scenes work to becoming an “influencer” (really don’t like the word influencer), I’d like to step away from all of the hashtag, posting time and engagement strategy to focus more on real life moments. I do still think there is value in the digital world though! I love being able to share my latest necessities and life learnings, so you’ll see more blog posts about living a more sustainable life, reviews and personal growth here.
2. Letting health take the stage
Fashion and beauty have always been focuses of mine, but in the new year I want health to take the forefront this year. Over the past year I accumulated over 15 pounds, from a mix of stress, unconscious eating and inconsistent exercising. There is nothing wrong with gaining weight, I repeat, there is nothing wrong with gaining weight, but there is something wrong with not taking care of your health, which is what I put on the back burner in 2019. I’m currently writing this post with a hurt back and it has been debilitating! My body isn’t used to extra weight I put on and loss of muscle mass, so in 2020 I want to turn it around and make a conscious and consistent effort towards my health.
3. Thinking bigger and more sustainably
Sustainability is such a trendy word right now, but what I mean by sustainability, is incorporating conscious decisions that I can sustain in the long run. From purchasing less, recycling more, maybe learn how to compost, work on turning my brown thumb green. Don’t worry I’m still going to post about ethical and green beauty/fashion, but I want to incorporate some newer learnings as well.
4. Connect with others and our new city
Josh and I spent nearly all of 2019 apart! In 2020 I want to focus on what living with each other means again. Now that we’re in yet another new county in California, we also need to start building some community here in SD. Oh, and since we’re living in a new city, I want to include San Diego guides! Places that make it to the must visit list here.
5. My secret resolution
Still keeping it a secret! Can anyone guess what it is?
