Makeup Necessities

Makeup Necessities

morning-routine-1

Is it sad that I’ve had the same makeup  routine since high school? Well, I found a routine that has worked for me the past 8 years, and it’s the same look that I use in all of my photos, so I think it’s worthy enough to share with you all!

Shae’s Makeup Necessities:

  • Bare Minerals Tinted Primer
  • Bare Minerals Matte Powder Foundation in Golden Medium
  • Bare Minerals Warmth
  • Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
  • Lancome Hypnose Mascara
  • Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (not pictured)
  • NARS Larger than Life Long-wear Eyeliner (not pictured)

After washing my face in the morning, I start off with a tinted primer. Since I use powder foundation, the primer helps the powder hold onto my skin throughout the day. I use a matte foundation because I have dry and oily skin.

My favorite product is  Bare Minerals Warmth it’s a loose bronzing powder that I use to contour my face. I like to finish off with Mineral Veil translucent powder to lock in the foundation and warmth that I applied to my face.

On my top eyelids I love using Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner because I like to add wings to the side of my eyes, and the applicator on her liquid liner is a stiff brush, which makes it easier to achieve the look more quickly. Also, her liner has been the only one that doesn’t smear or smudge on my upper eye crease line (asian eye problems).

On my bottom eyelids I’ve found that NARS Larger than Life Long-wear Eyeliner is the best for all day wear. I like to apply this to the waterline and smudge for a subtle smoky look.

The last step in my makeup routine is applying mascara. I use an eyelash curler to curl my lashes and then apply waterproof mascara to only my top lashes. I use a waterproof mascara, because my lashes are extremely straight and non-waterproof mascara, will make my lashes straight after application (another asian eye problem).

I usually don’t wear lip color, but If I do, I usually apply a matte neutral tone lip color.

Do you have any make up necessities of your own? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
