Trying new Zero Waste and Non-toxic Products | EC30

Trying new Zero Waste and Non-toxic Products | EC30

It didn’t occur to me to limit VOCs until I became pregnant. For the past 8 months, I’ve given up cleaning with chemicals and as much as I wish, I haven’t had time to play around with making natural cleaners. This is why I was excited when I discovered EC30’s zero-waste and eco-friendly cleaning products. EC30 makes cleaning products (hand wash, surface cleaner, laundry detergent and toilet bowl cleaner) and personal care products (face wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner) in what looks like a dissolvable cotton swatch. Their products are the most sustainable that I’ve come across, and after learning that the EC30 cleaning products are safe to use during pregnancy, I had to give the brand a try.

I received a “Try It All Kit” from EC-30, and here is my honest review:

A Guide to Plogging/Plalking | Coastal Clean Up Month with Boxed Water

A Guide to Plogging/Plalking | Coastal Clean Up Month with Boxed Water

Plog = plocka upp (‘pick up’ in Swedish)  + jog

I was fascinated by the concept of plogging when I first read about the craze in Sweden in 2018. I already was jogging multiple times a week and recall passing by a lot of trash, why not pick up the trash that I pass along the way by bringing along a bag? The first time I went plogging, I had dragged Josh with me to the beach and it was a little gross. We didn’t wear gloves and used a reusable canvas bag to hold our trash because I wanted to “look cute doing it”..rookie mistake. Fast forward two years later, I keep a mini bottle of hand sanitizer in my jogging fanny pack that I carry my phone in and tie one of PJ’s doggy baggies on me. If the trash gets too full, I just dump it in a trash can nearby. If you haven’t been plogging, I hope you try it–September is Coastal Clean Up Month, which is the perfect time to begin.

Plogging Essentials:

  • Disposable baggie
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Mask and gloves (gloves optional if you have hand sanitizer)

Plogging tips:

Life update! I’m Having a Baby

Hello! It’s been a long time, and if you follow along on Instagram (@shaesburns), I’m carrying a baby! Today I’m 21 weeks pregnant, four months and just over halfway there! The time has flown, and I thought I’d write an update to start off all of the pregnancy content I’ve been inspired to write. I’ve learned and researched so much so far in this pregnancy and you know I believe in sharing, so I’ll document my journey here.

Life Update! HNY from San Diego

Life Update! HNY from San Diego

Wow it’s been such a long time since I’ve done a life update and the past year was a whirlwind! I got a new job and we moved to Orange County, then Josh got a job in San Diego, so we started doing long distance, and then I got a job in San Diego and we commuted for 4 hours a day until we bought and moved into our new home. CRAY-Z.

This decade ended with so many changes. It’s taken me half a month to process, finally sit down and be ready to share it with you here on my corner of the internet. I contemplated ending this blog, but I love how it’s become a chronicle of my life. And with the decision to keep my site up, I’ve come up with a few goals for the year and where I see this blog going in the next year. Thanks for following along loves!
