SS18 Fashion Trends Part 2

written by Shae March 27, 2018
SS18 Fashion Trends Part 2

Hello sweet ice cream hues, polka dots, stripes and baby blues! It’s the first week of spring, so I thought I better round up all of the best spring and summer trends right away. I realize that trends can be hard to pull off, so with each trend there are some styling tips that I hope you explore in lieu of the season. As usual I’ve also included some eco-friendly and sustainable fashion pieces to wear your heart out of this season.

1. Pastels + Mixed Florals

Blush, lavender or ultra violet (hello pantone color of the year) and baby blue will be living past easter this year. Pastels can live in the form of shoes, a floral print, as pants, bags, hats and more.

Best pastel look of Instagram:

@wendyslookbook

Wendy is actually pulling off two major spring trends in one: pastels and mixing floral prints. A great example of taking a trend and making it her own and unique.

How to dress it:

For the daring: Full monochrome look

For the subtle: Pop of color

Eco chic pieces:

2. Black and white dots/spots

Best dots/spots of Instagram:

@shaesburns

This is probably one of my favorite outfits only because it’s comfortable, relaxed and looks really put together.

How to dress it:

For the daring: large scale polkas

For the subtle: small scale polkas

Eco chic pieces:

3. Vertical Stripes

Spring is going really retro, so you’re going to start seeing some crazy striped pants, but also some really nice vertical stripes on jumpsuits, dresses and swimwear.

Best vertical stripe on Instagram:

@emilyvartanian

The verticle stripes are very slimming, I’ll take more of that!

How to dress it:

For the daring: full on jumpsuit or matching top and bottom set.

For the subtle: On accessories like hair scarves, swim suit, shirt or pants (one at a time).

Eco chic pieces:
