Staying Fashionable with Reformation

written by Shae October 4, 2017
Staying Fashionable with Reformation

Making sustainable clothing purchases has been the most difficult part of my eco lifestyle transition. You all know that I love fashion, so one fashion problem I’ve run into: a majority of the eco clothing brands just sell basics. That is all great, but it’s also somewhat boring when you’re trying to be unique. Here comes Reformation. I’ve had my eye on this brand for a while. When I saw that they were having a sale in August, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to give their clothing a try! Sorry everyone the sale is over, but I will be announcing their next sales in the future.

In this blog post:

  • Who is Reformation?
  • Reformation Review
  • When to catch their next sale

Who is Reformation?

To me they are the leaders in sustainable fashion today. From downtown LA, Reformation’s clothing line is definitely fashion forward, romantic and eco friendly. Their business model and practices focus on sustainability in all aspects of their products lifecycle. For every piece of clothing Reformation sells, they are transparent on who made the piece and how much water, waste and carbon dioxide you saved from your purchase. If that doesn’t make you feel great already,  they even suggest eco ways to wash their garments.

Their clothing usually runs from $80-$360 which is why their sales are key.

My Reformation “non-haul” review

I purchased two items at the Reformation Sale, which is final sale only: a basic white off-the-shoulder tee and a two piece set crop top and skirt.

Kipp top – 5/10

The concept of this basic t-shirt is really cuteL a simple and clean off the shoulder look. Unfortunately its really thin and sheer so you have to wear a shirt or bralette underneath, thus losing the simple and clean look. I thought the tencel and linen would be high quality and soft, but it really isn’t.

Gramercy two-piece – 9/10

I love this set. I was hesitant at first not knowing their sizing, but this set fit me perfectly. The fabric is beautiful and made 100% out of viscose. The skirt is on the thin side, so I rated this piece a 9/10 instead of a 10. This piece definitely calls for nude undergarments!

When does Reformation have their sales?

  • August, for their end of summer sale
  • December, for their end of year sale

Have you tried Reformation? I’ve slowly been uncovering some other stylish eco brands that I can’t wait to share with you here!
