Trends in Swimwear

Trends in Swimwear

If you’re in the market for swimwear, which most of us are this time of year, you’ll want to shop this post as I take you through this season’s best swimwear styles and which body types they work for.

Don’t forget to stop by the Shae Shop for so many more styles I’ve curated for this season.

1. The classic one-piece with a little side action

Taking the place of the big side cut outs of the monokini of 2016 and 2015, these swim suits, give you a lot more coverage but show the same amount of skin.

2. The tummy cut out suit

Can you tell I have no clever name for this type of suit, because it is kind of odd to me to be putting a window to your stomach for all of the world to see, BUT if you have the abs, then I definitely suggest showing them off with one of these suits. These suits are so popular in tropical prints, but also are fun in color blocks as well.

3. Wrap Bikini

Made for women who are smaller chested, probably a 34C AT MOST. These bikinis accentuate the waistline. Because the top has more fabric, it also can help make the bust look fuller. I’m personally a fan of this particular style, at a measly 34B.

4. T-shirt Swim Top

Cropped and tied, over the shoulder, high-neck halter, the t-shirt swim top is perfect if you’re going from the boardwalk to the sand and back to the boardwalk. This is my personal favorite trend of them all because it’s the easiest. All you have to do is throw on a high waisted skirt and your beach clothes instantly turn into street clothes.

5. STRIPES

This last trend is intriguing, but not surprising. Aren’t we pulling in styles from the 50’s 60’s and 70’s right now? I know the stripes are definitely not for everyone, but if you’re a bold type of gal, why not?
