Where to Shop for Conscious Workout Clothes + Not Thrifted Options for Under $40

Where to Shop for Conscious Workout Clothes + Not Thrifted Options for Under $40

I buy a lot of secondhand clothing for sustainability, but I can’t get myself to purchase used activewear! Athleisure I understand because it’s just meant to be cute, but not workout clothes since you are literally meant to sweat in them. Recently, it’s gotten a lot easier to shop for conscious activewear because companies are starting to make ethics and sustainability a norm during production. For example, Adidas will be making ALL of their shoes out of recycled plastic by 2024!

Here are my favorite conscious workout brands + tips on finding conscious workout clothes for under $50.

Threads 4 Thought

If you haven’t read my review on their clothing you can do so here. I highly recommend Threads 4 Thought. All of their clothes are so soft, they have great options for men and conscious. They use sustainable fabrics, recycled plastic or organic cotton; and are ethical in their production practices. Their leggings are also sheer proof, which is #1 in working out. Threads 4 Thought can either be purchased online on their site here. BIG TIP, I’ve found a lot of their pieces at Nordstrom Rack. Linking some very cute pieces below, I’m wearing the Mazie Perforated Leggings in this blog’s pictures and I love them!

Girlfriend Collective

Also have been a fan of them since they started a few years ago, but they are now being sold at Nordstrom and Reformation! I haven’t tried their new lite collection, but I am a fan of their original high waisted leggings and can confirm that they are also sheer proof. These leggings are thicker than my pieces from Threads 4 Thought. I do want to point out, that they sell biker shorts! Had to throw that out there since they are very “in” right now.

Outdoor Voices

Their activewear is ethically produced, but their materials aren’t all sustainable. I love the way their pieces look and they are really great quality. Outdoor Voices is a budget friendly option because you can buy their “kit” a sports bra and leggings for $95 on their site here. BIG TIP, they also sell a lot of pieces at Nordstrom Rack as well for also under $40.

Ps. If you’re wondering where my outfit is from in these pictures, it is all sustainable! My versatile top is from Indigenous, my bra (which I wear for lounging and yoga) is from Aikyou and my leggings are the ones I linked above from Threads 4 Thought.

Cheers to working out for those summer bodies!
